Born in France to a Belgian-English family, Tom spent much of his childhood in Oman. This international upbringing has deeply influenced his work, with much of his writing for Surge exploring the rich blend of cultures that define Edinburgh. Before joining the MA Journalism course at Napier, Tom studied International Relations and Modern History at the University of St Andrews.
